Going to the home store and buying tools specifically for the purpose of building instruments is not an option for a luthier. Yes, there are commercial instrument tool manufacturers whom which one could buy machines, but wouldn't that make all of the instruments seem to be the same? That was the thought of Nick Bucci when he set out to build a shop specifically for making one-of-a-kind signature commissioned instruments. Not only did Nick Bucci, set out to build the instruments, he first had to design the tools that would allow him to build the way he wanted.
