BTM

He walked away from his regionally successful retail music chain and a world class repair facility. He sold his home and bought a place where his family could live and he could and build guitars. Then Nick Bucci took a well deserved self-sabbatical as he worked side by side with International luthier, Natividad Tirado for months to break his thought of the retail world and focus clearly on the handed down art of making instruments.

The art of choosing right materials and using hand tools was part of what he thought of the most. The rest is certainly shown in the old-world craftsmanship applied to the complete process of building a remarkable Bucci electric or acoustic instrument. Although others swear that computer automation and consistency from the major manufacturers will no-doubt provide the same cookie cutter of a flawless guitar, time-and-time again, there is no argument that a hand-made instrument is built to a make a connection with a particular players hands, body, and soul.

"Our distinction is our process. An owner works along with the luthier throughout the entire process.  From touring the selection of wood to string choice and final tuning, a Bucci will make a lasting connection with a player."

This is the process that ensures the solitary "remarkable experience" each time the player and instrument connect.

Nick Bucci

While playing guitar professionally for nearly 35 years, Nick Bucci managed to live a success story in the industry. Certainly recognized for his playing abilities first, Nick spent over 25 of those years first working for and then owning the first chain of music retail stores in Delaware. Even though he was consumed with the daily job of running these locations, nothing could pry him out of the massive and regionally acclaimed repair facility he had built above his main location.

Achieving those dreams would have been enough to satisfy most, but Nick had a desire to do more than that. In 1995 he gave up ownership and his stakes in the music retail world and focused on building guitars that would posses not just all of the features he thought were important to players, but by applying his skills to hand craft an instrument that works as an extension of a player.  The luthier, the player, and the materials working together, is a remarkable experience.

Today Bucci instruments are hand-made one-by-one in the Bucci shop in Northern Delaware.  Nick himself is still the sole hands-on guy in the shop. His procurer, scours the world in search of the right tonal woods that posses unique appearances, while maintaining a tone that naturally resonates. The woods are then shaped by hand, and assembled by hand. Finishes are applied under a strict environment, using a variety pf materials that are explained to the owner and chosen for a particular purpose. Electronics have no limitations, your dreams are now possibilities. The owner is invited to follow throughout the building process and see behind what will be his/her instrument as it grows. This is the process that ensures the touted "remarkable experience" each time the player and instrument connect.
